Eighties babies rejoice! One of the cartoon favorites of your generation is going Hollywood and there is more than meets the eye!
“Transformers” are back and badder than ever with an all out digital extreme makeover
(…guess even cartoons need to change their appearance these days). Who else but the genius Steven Spielberg could make this cartoon classic into a 2007 real life action movie blockbuster? The movie is also directed by Michael Bay for DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures and the cast includes Josh Duhamel, Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia) , John Turturro and Jon Voight (Angelie Jolie’s daddy).
The movie is not the only surprise in store for fans. Hasbro also revamped their action figure collection. These toys have come along way since 1984 (as have our hairdos). Prototypes for the new Transformer action figures are being shown at Toy Fair 2007. This is not the kind of toy we use to have. Damn, we would be happy if its legs bent without breaking. Not these bad boys.
The updated Transformer models include; Megatron and his lead henchman StarScream, who morphs into an F-15 Eagle and Optimus sidekick Bumblebee, who travels incognito as a Chevrolet Camaro. Aside from the cars, there’s an animatronic Transformers Movie Ultimate Bumblebee, which plays tracks like Devo’s “Whip It,” the Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet (some of you can use it to call that ex in disguise), an Arm Blaster unleashing Nerf darts, a Cyber Stompin’ Robot with monster sound effects and,the best of them all, the Mr. Potato Head Optimash Prime. We may not have had it this good when we were kids but we can relive the experience now.
Transformers, opens July 4th 2007 nationwide.
